This talk is an introduction to Everyone's Invited and the term rape culture. We discuss how rape culture manifests in our society and focus on four elements: gendered pressures, media and language, systems of inequality and sexual violence as an outcome. The talk concludes in empowering students to challenge rape culture on an everyday basis.

Tackling Rape Culture

This talk looks into sexual wellbeing in a digital age. As the sexual landscape of today changes rapidly, it's important that we are delivering the right messages to young people about healthy relationships, consent and the intersection between sex and technology.

Understanding Sexual Wellbeing

This talk is interactive and equips students with the knowledge to recognise, identify, and articulate issues around sexual violence. The participants learn about the trauma associated with sexual violence. We detail the reporting process and where to find support for victims of sexual violence. The talk uses the law to educate students on sexual violence and its repercussions.

Recognising Sexual Violence

What does consent actually look like? What does consent sound like? What does enthusiastic consent mean? How can we ask for consent? What are some of the things to look out for when consenting and asking for consent? This talk covers active and enthusiastic consent, engaging young people through positive stories of consent.

Micro Talks run at 30 minutes and are perfect for short assemblies. They can be adapted to any age from 11 onwards.

Consent

This session will bring Everyone's Invited insights to a 30-minute presentation for young people to understand misogynistic and extremist content that they may be consuming online. We are seeing rising trends of the 'male self-improvement' influencers. These influencers use pyramid schemes and trading to encourage young men to idealise misogynistic and harmful representations of masculinity.

Rise of the misogynistic male 'podcaster'

Gendered pressures, stereotypes and bias are all around us. The media and social media platforms continue to push outdated gender roles and stereotypes. As young people begin to explore identity, media and relationships they sometimes face pressures to conform to overly restrictive and outdated scripts of masculinity and femininity. These pressures create imbalance and inequality in society. This talk aims to help young people identify these pressures and begin to question and challenge them.

Gendered Pressures

Report & Support is a snappy presentation created to help young people access support if they or their friends have experienced sexual violence. It will detail the different options available when moving forward after the event, outline the pros and cons of reporting and explore access to long-term support.

Report & Support

This workshop brings together all the ideas from the previous talks to educate students on how to be active up-standers. We use empathy exercises to help students understand how rape culture affects different people in society and give students the language to tackle rape culture and become active up-standers in everyday life. Using testimonies from our website, the students learn about situations involving consent and safe intervention in situations of sexual violence and harassment.

Active Upstander Workshop

This workshop introduces students to the term 'rape culture' and asks them to recognise the ways in which rape culture exists in societal structures: both online and in conversations with friends. Students build their own picture of rape culture and then start to think about its long-term impact. We ask them to breakdown the different facets of rape culture and begin to build a new narrative. The session ends with a calling-out exercise that has the students creating posters that can be placed around the school, encouraging them to challenge rape culture with examples of how it can be tackled.

Rape Culture

This workshop encourages students to learn and explore communication and meaningful connection in their friendships and romantic relationships. Students are encouraged to think about different communication and listening skills as well as recognising and understanding different emotions. We ask them to recognise and identify different forms of abuse and look at solving communication issues.

Sexual Wellbeing and Relationships

This workshop brings together students that may be suffering from conflict in their year groups. We use this space to bring together no more than 20 students to discuss topics around relationships, love, cheating, consent, and gender inequality. This space allows them to have meaningful and calm conversations, develop listening and discussion skills and work on building their friendships and relationships. We use a panel and spectrum style format to get them speaking to one another.

Relationship Building

We are finding that students, more than anything, are wanting the space to have safe conversations with their peers. We facilitate a space where small groups of students are able to talk through the topics listed below (amongst any other requested topics). This space allows education through conversation, giving the students a voice whilst we guide them through the topics. You can choose two of the following topics (or your own specified topics) for the session:

Education through Conversation

This workshop will introduce staff to the Everyone's Invited mission and ethos. We discuss rape culture and the different ways in which it affects the younger generation on a day-to-day basis. This training is workshop based and will allow staff members to build their own picture of rape culture. We think about gender bias in the classroom, handling disclosures, and also work through some scenarios from our testimonies.

This session can facilitate 60 staff members at a time and needs to be run in a workshop setting with tables and chairs.

Basic Staff Training

This sharing session is designed to give staff a deeper understanding of the online misogyny and incel culture that young people are increasingly exposed to online. The session will help staff gain the confidence and the tools to challenge misogynistic behaviour and rhetoric in the classroom.

Specialist Staff Sharing & Termly Programmes

This session is similar to the specialist staff sharing. We inform and educate parents about what their children may be exposed to online, at parties and at school. It covers gendered pressures, online misogyny, the increase in violent sex, and how to meaningfully engage with your children when discussing challenging topics.

Parent Session

EI creates bespoke packages that are tailored to the needs of the organisation, be that full-term programmes, resources for teacher training and form time, or conflict resolution with certain issues between students.
