Gendered pressures, stereotypes and bias are all around us. The media and social media platforms continue to push outdated gender roles and stereotypes. As young people begin to explore identity, media and relationships, they sometimes face pressures to conform to overly restrictive and obsolete scripts of masculinity and femininity. These pressures create imbalance and inequality in society. This talk aims to help young people identify these pressures and begin to question and challenge them. 

The talks run at 1hr and can be adapted to any age from 11 onwards. They can be in an assembly format with as many students as you require.

Gendered Pressures

This talk introduces Everyone's Invited and the term rape culture. We explore how it pervades in a society dominated by media. We discuss how rape culture exists, looking at four elements: gendered pressures, media and language, systems of inequality and sexual violence as an outcome. The talk concludes by empowering students to challenge rape culture every day. 

Rape Culture

A look into sexual well-being in a digital age. As the sexual landscape of today changes rapidly, we must deliver the right messages to young people about healthy relationships, the intersection between sex and technology and the difference between flirting and harassment. 

Sexual Wellbeing

This interactive talk equips students with the knowledge to recognise, identify and articulate issues around sexual violence. The participants learn about the trauma associated with sexual violence. We detail the reporting process and where to find support for victims of sexual violence. The talk uses the law to educate students on sexual violence and its repercussions.

Sexual Violence

This session will bring Everyone's Invited insights to a 30-minute presentation for young people to understand misogynistic and extremist content that they may be consuming online. We are seeing rising trends of the 'male self-improvement' influencers. These influencers use pyramid schemes and trading to encourage young men to idealise misogynistic and harmful representations of masculinity.

Rise of Online Misogyny

This workshop brings together all the ideas from the previous talks to educate students on how to be active up-standers. We use empathy exercises to help students understand how rape culture affects different people in society, empowering students with the language to tackle rape culture and become active upstanders in everyday life. Using testimonies from our website, the students learn about situations involving consent and safe intervention in cases of sexual violence and sexual harassment.

The workshops can run from 50 to 90 minutes and can be adapted for age 11 onwards. Maximum capacity for each workshop is 30 students.

Active Upstander

These workshops span over a term or a year. We run three separate workshops between girls and boys, focusing on topics such as online misogyny, internalised misogyny, communication in relationships, equality and more. The final workshop brings the students back together to share what they have learnt and to find common ground in their experiences, centring the learning in empathy building. 

United Voices

This workshop will introduce staff to the Everyone's Invited mission and ethos. We discuss rape culture and how it affects the younger generation on a day-to-day basis. This training is workshop based and will allow staff members to build their own picture of rape culture. We think about gender bias in the classroom, handling disclosures, and work through some scenarios from our testimonies. 

This session can facilitate 60 staff members and needs to be run in a workshop setting with tables and chairs.

Staff Sharing

This sharing session is designed to pass on information to staff about the material that young people can access daily. We share our insights, knowledge and terminology that we have gained access to through youth advisory boards and our researches at Everyone's Invited. These sessions focus on Incel culture, the rise of online misogyny and challenging students'language (specifically Andrew Tate-influenced rhetoric).

This session can be run as a talk with no limits on staff numbers.

Staff Sharing: Incels & Online Misogyny

This session is similar to the specialist staff sharing. We inform and educate parents about what their children may be exposed to online, at parties and school and as they move through their every day life. It covers gendered pressures, online misogyny, the increase in violent sex and how to engage with your children on certain topics.

This session can be run as a talk with no limits on parent numbers.

Parent Sharing

Everyone's Invited proudly introduces Community Champions, a pioneering initiative dedicated to empowering school leadership. This programme will work alongside students from different schools across the UK on a year-long structured project that will help them foster a culture of respect, empathy, and proactive engagement in their school communities. We want to support students in developing their initiatives and create a collaborative culture between senior leadership and students to make their schools a more accepting, inclusive, and safer space.

 These ambassadors will learn the core elements of our three talks and extra contextual education around gendered pressures, influencers and online misogyny. This will include effective communication, critical analysis, and pedagogical techniques. Our comprehensive online training sessions will empower them to holistically address and mitigate challenges within their school environments, educating younger generations and collaborating with pastoral teachers to create change. 

Community Champions Initiative

EI creates bespoke packages that are tailored to the needs of the organisation, be that full-term programmes, resources for teacher training and form time, or conflict resolution with certain issues between students.
