Cookie Policy

1. Introduction
Everyone’s Invited ("we" or "us") is a UK Charity committed to respecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we use cookies and similar technologies on our website. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They help us enhance your experience by remembering your preferences and improving website functionality.
Our website also uses local storage, a different browser-based technology that allows us to store information locally on your device. Unlike cookies:
Local storage does not automatically expire and remains on your device unless manually deleted.
Local storage is not sent to our servers—it only affects how content is displayed on your browser.
3. How We Use Cookies and Local Storage
Our website does not use first-party cookies. However, we use:
Local storage for website functionality (e.g., remembering whether you have seen certain popups).
Third-party cookies from Substack (only if you consent by clicking “Accept and Load” on an embedded newsletter).
4. Types of Cookies We Use
A. Local Storage (Used for Functional Purposes)
Local storage is used on our website to:
Remember whether you have seen a popup (so it does not show repeatedly).
Store your consent for Substack embeds (so that you do not need to approve each visit).
Unlike cookies, local storage does not expire automatically. You can clear it manually in your browser settings.
B. Third-Party Cookies (Set by Substack)
Our website does not set any first-party cookies. However, if you choose to accept Substack’s cookies by clicking "Accept and Load" on a Substack embed, Substack will set cookies on your device. These cookies may be used for:
• Analytics & performance tracking
• A/B testing
• Security and bot protection
• User engagement tracking
These cookies are not controlled by us and are subject to Substack’s own privacy policy. Once consent is given, Substack manages its cookies according to its own policies, and we do not have access to them.
5. Managing Cookies
You have control over cookies and local storage preferences. Here’s how you can manage them:
A. How to Revoke Consent for Substack Cookies
Clicking 'Reset Cookie Preferences' removes your consent from local storage. This prevents Substack embeds from loading unless you choose to consent again. This does not remove Substack’s cookies. To manually delete them:
Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data > See all site data and permissions, search for "substack.com," and delete stored cookies.
Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Manage Data, find "substack.com," and remove it.
Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data, search for "substack.com," and click "Remove."
B. How to Clear Local Storage (Popup Preferences & Consent)
Local storage does not automatically expire. If you want to remove stored preferences manually:
Chrome: Open Developer Tools (F12 or Cmd + Option + I on Mac), go to "Application" > "Local Storage" > Select "Clear."
Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Clear Data (ensure "Site Data" is checked).
Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data > Remove All or select specific sites to clear.
Clearing local storage will remove preferences stored by our website but will not remove Substack’s cookies. You must delete those separately as outlined above in section 5A.
6. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We regularly review and update this Cookie Policy. Any changes will be posted on this page. This policy was last updated on 20 March 2025.
